"Unique program helps Navajo students pass GED test"

Organization Vision:

We strive to meet physical, spiritual, educational and socioeconomic need of the community and empowering them to be self-reliant.

Program Mission:

To successfully prepare high school dropouts withing the ages of 16 and older in basic literacy and GED diploma and create awareness to students on life lessons and other skills.

Organizational Mission Statement:

We accomplish this mission by offering various programs to meet the needs.

Who We Are
We are a subsidiary of Native American New Life Ministries, a 501(c) nonprofit charitable organization. This program was established in 2011 after realizing the educational needs in the community that was not being met by existing local entities. The school dropout rate has become like an epidemic. Statistics show that over 55% of high school students drop out throughout the entire Navajo Reservation. Also, the college dropout rate has reached over 72% in this community. This dropout has regenerated into other social issues which include but not limited to:

  • Teenage pregnancy
  • Drug and alcohol abuse
  • Juvenile delinquency
  • Vandalism
  • Youth crimes

Thus resulting in family dysfunction which is tearing the social fabric of various communities on the Navajo reservation.

Our testing Center has been certified by Pearson Vue and Department of Education to administer Teachers` Licensure computer based testing. So far over 200 teachers have taken their tests and more are scheduled to take their tests every week.
