Welcome History: This organization was founded in July 2007 under the name Maisha Mapya International Ministries Inc; “maisha mapya” in Swahili means “new life”. Since our focus is on Native Americans we do business as “Native American New Life Ministries”. This organization is qualified charity determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be tax exempt under section 501(c) (3) of internal Revenue Code. It is led by a board of directors who are mostly Native Americans.. Mission: To meet physical, spiritual, educational and socioeconomic needs of the community thus empowering them to be self sustaining. Purpose: To develop the local communities to be self reliant. Programs: In order to meet these community needs we have established various programs which includes but not limited to youth leadership development; school dropout prevention, family literacy, spiritual development for both adults and children; college preparation for high school seniors, new homes construction and repairs among others. Affiliation: We are NOT affiliated with any religious or political organization; however we partner and collaborate with relevant entities to accomplish our mission. Our organization does not discriminate against gender, age, color, cultural background, and sexual orientation, political or religious affiliations. Geographical focus: Currently our focus is on the Native American communities of Apache County in Arizona and McKinley County in New Mexico
